BOSTON, Mass. – Niagara University forward
Trevor Hoskin has been named the 2024-25 Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Year, conference officials announced Tuesday.
Hoskin led all AHA rookies with 39 points on 12 goals and 27 assists while appearing in 36 games for the Purple Eagles. He finished the season second in the conference in assists/game, and fourth in points per game. His 39 points on the season rank second among collegiate freshman, while his 12 goals were third among first-year players nationally and his 27 assists were fourth-most.
The forward recorded 13 multi-point games and maintained a +7 plus/minus rating throughout the season. Hoskin tallied two power-play goals and notched one game-winning goal while helping the Purple Eagles to an 18-13-3 conference record.
Hoskin becomes the second Niagara player to earn AHA Rookie of the Year honors, joining Ludwig Stenlund (2019). The freshman standout was also named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team and received All-AHA Second Team honors.
As a team, Niagara earned the Team Sportsmanship Award with a league-low 192 PIMS in conference play. The Purple Eagles last won the award in 2019.
