Men's Hockey Defeats Guelph in Exhibition

Niagara University, NY - Men's Hockey defeated Guelph 4-2 in an exhibition Wednesday afternoon at Dwyer Arena.

Guelph opened the scoring at 6:56 with a goal from Ethan Doyle on the power play, assisted by Duncan Penman and Kaden Johnston. Giordano Biondi doubled the lead at 14:50, with Anthony Tabak picking up the assist.

Dallon Melin got the home team on the board at 2:46 with an unassisted tally to cut the deficit in half.

With Guelph shorthanded, Mitchell Becker capitalized on the power play at 15:59, taking a feed from Niemo to knot the score at 2-2. 

Nicholas Niemo scored the game-winner shorthanded in the third at 10:17. Spencer Young assisted on the crucial goal that gave the Purple Eagles their first lead of the game at 3-2.

Lane Brockhoff provided insurance at 16:07 with his fourth goal of the season, finishing unassisted to make it 4-2. 

Deivs Rolvos got the start for Niagara before Mitchell Day came in relief for the second period. Tomas Anderson shut the door in the third period, stopping all 12 shots he faced to preserve the victory.
