Fairfield, CT – Niagara volleyball fell to Fairfield in straight sets 3-0 (14-25, 13-25, 13-25) at Leo D. Mahoney Arena.
Set One
Fairfield got on the board first with a kill, but Janiah Robinson answered immediately with a kill assisted by Kylie Blessing to knot the score at 1-1.
Fairfield pushed ahead to a 6-2 lead, a kill by Payton Lee from Blessing made it 6-3. Sydney Wilkes connected on assists from Perkins and Mia Schaefer to pull within 20-11 and 22-13, but the Stags ended up taking the set 25-14.
Set Two
After falling behind 1-0, Lee gave Niagara its first lead of the match at 1-1 with a kill from Blessing. The Stags took a 6-3 advantage, but kills from Liana Tolliver and Kinga Wronska knotted the set up at 6-6.
The Stags embarked on a 4-0 run, to push the lead to 10-6. Fairfield ran away with the set after that, closing out the set at 25-13.
Set Three
Niagara got on the board for the first time in the contest off a Stags attack error.
Lee, Robinson, Wilkes and Wronska recorded the Purple Eagles' five kills of the set, before falling 25-13.
