Talia Dial poured in 26 points to lead five double-figure scorers as Niagara rolled to a 115-72 victory over SUNY Brockport on Friday afternoon at Gallagher Center.
Dial shot 9-for-25 from the field, including 5-of-14 from beyond the arc, in 32 minutes of action.
Jade Campbell and
Chasity Wilson each added 21 points for the Purple Eagles, while
Kenedie Haruna contributed 19 points off the bench.
Niagara dominated from the opening tip, jumping out to a 30-18 lead after the first quarter and extending its advantage to 68-32 at halftime. The Purple Eagles never trailed in the contest.
The home team shot 44.9 percent from the field (40-for-89) and converted 29 of 33 free throw attempts for an impressive 87.9 percent. Niagara also controlled the glass with a 49-37 rebounding advantage and forced 45 turnovers, converting them into 55 points.
Wilson pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists while shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Campbell was equally efficient, going 8-of-11 from the field and 5-of-5 at the charity stripe.
Tyasia Freeman added nine points and eight rebounds for Niagara, which outscored Brockport 64-44 in points in the paint and 45-18 in fast break points. The Purple Eagles' bench contributed 51 points.
