ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Niagara scored seven goals from seven different players, including a three-goal burst in the opening 2:56 of the third period, to defeat RIT 7-0 in Atlantic Hockey action Friday night at the Gene Polisseni Center.
How it Happened
Noah Hackett opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 12:04 of the first period, while
Tyler Wallace and
Trevor Hoskin added second-period goals to make it 3-0.
The Purple Eagles then broke the game open early in the third as
Jay Ahearn scored 21 seconds into the period, followed by
Andy Reist at 1:28 and
Alex Murray at 2:56.
Shane Ott completed the scoring at 13:32, capping off the offensive outburst for Niagara.
RIT (5-19-1, 4-12-1) was outshot 31-26 as goalie Trent Burnham made 24 saves in the loss.

• The Purple Eagles stopped a four-game road losing streak to RIT, improving to 27-22-17 with Friday's win.
• NU's seven goals was its most against RIT in program history.
