SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Niagara soared past Le Moyne Saturday evening in the Salt City winning in straight-sets 25-14, 25-20, and 25-18. The Purple Eagles, who begin league play next weekend improve to 4-7 overall while Le Moyne moves to 1-8 on the season.
How it Happened
Victoria Latino led Niagara with four kills while
Janiah Robinson recorded a team-best two blocks and
Kinga Wronska added a service ace as Niagara took set one in no time. The Purple Ealges jumped out to an 8-2 lead and despite allowing the Dolphins to make it one-point contest, 9-8, cruised to a 25-14 set win to take the early 1-0 advantage.
Set two was a closer contest between NU and Le Moyne, as the Dolphins held at 16-15 lead and NU called its first timeout. The Purple Eagles took the next five points to force a Dolphin timeout and take a 20-16 lead. The Purple Eagles, who were led by five kills by Wronska and a total of four blocks, including three block assists from
Sydney Wilkes and
Laryssa Imbuzeiro in the set, went on to take the a 2-0 lead over Le Moyne with a 25-20 set win.
Niagara wouldn't trail in the final set of play as
Payton Lee paced the attack with four kills, followed by
Janiah Robinson and Wronska with two apiece. As a team, the Purple Eagles posted a game-high five blocks, and three service aces en route to the sweep.

• Niagara improves to 2-2 all-time against Le Moyne.
• A total of three Purple Eagles recorded seven or more kills, led by Wronska's eight.
• Wronska's eight kills is a three-set season-high for the junior.

Kylie Blessing totaled 13 assists to pace NU, including a set-high of five in sets one and three. The junior also led the Purple and White with 10 digs.
• NU finished the game with 12 blocks, its second-straight game with double-digit blocks.
• With five blocks on Saturday, Laryssa Imbuziero moves into fourth all-time with 354 blocks in her career, surpassing Amanda Wilken (2009-12) and Tricia Traczyk (1997-00).

Janiah Robinson posted a match-best seven blocks, giving her 27 on the season, second most on the team.
