Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Syracuse Defeats Niagara, 3-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 25 ranked Syracuse Orange defeated Niagara 3-0 in Sunday night's interstate non-conference matchup. The Purple and White fall to 0-2 on the young season, while Syracuse improves to 2-0.

How it Happened
Jamie Barry would keep the game scoreless through the first 20-plus minutes of action, making four saves, including back-to-back stops in the 18th minute, however, the junior netminder could do nothing to keep the Orange off the board in the 26th minute as a cross found Ezra Windman for the opening marker of the contest.

Prior to the Orange goal, Niagara's Gianluca Del Priore nearly found the back of the net for the Purple Eagles in the 15th minute, however, a leaping save from the Syracuse keeper kept the contest scoreless for the moment.

With just over 10-minutes to go in the first half, Syracuse would double its score with a goal off a free kick as Chimere Omeze headed home the cross.

The Orange would start the second half with their third goal of the contest, in the 54th minute.

Barry would make a save diving to his left in the 74th minute of action, his 12th of the contest, keeping the Orange from scoring its fourth goal of the night.
