Bough and Mazzaferro Lift Niagara to 2-0 Win at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y.Emma Bough and Isabella Mazzaferro each scored a goal as Niagara (2-1, 0-0 MAAC) defeated Le Moyne (0-3, 0-0 NEC) 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action in Central New York.

How it Happened
Niagara opened the scoring in the 39th minute of action on a corner kick from Maia MacLean that found the head of Bough right in front of the net, giving Niagara its third first-half goal in as many games.

The Dolphins would only get a pair of shots off in the first half, both of which came in the first five minutes of play and didn't threaten Niagara keeper, Maddie Crosbie.

Bough nearly scored her second goal of the game in the opening portion of the second half but the Le Moyne goalie, Mikayla McPheron, made the stop to keep the score at 1-0.

Le Moyne would take four shots in a five-minute span with the first getting blocked by a Niagara back, the second hitting the post, and a third saved by Crosbie, her first of the contest.

Transfer Morgan Kulniszewski would take three shots of her own in the second half, two of which were off target, however the third was thwarted by McPherson in the 74th minute.

Niagara would eventually get an insurance goal in the second half when Bough found a running Mazzaferro with a long through pass for the sophomores second tally of the young season.

Crosbie would make her second and final save of the contest in the 89th minute to earn her second clean sheet of the season.
