Fairfield, CT—The Niagara tennis teams traveled to Fairfield as they started its final weekend of the regular season. The women's match was shortened due to weather as the Stags won 4-0. The men fell 4-0 to the Stags.
Women's Recap
Doubles
Gabriela Melo and Coral Rodriguez fell 6-3 in first doubles.
In second doubles, Elena Mayet and Larisa Kotok fell 6-3 to give Fairfield the doubles point.
Jaida Borg and Enrica Favaron were leading 5-4 in third doubles before the match was ended due to Fairfield securing the doubles point.
Singles
Mayet fell in first singles 6-1, 6-2.
Rodriguez fell in second singles 6-3, 6-0.
In fifth singles, Mercedes Velasco fell 6-2, 6-1.
Once Fairfield secured the match win the other singles matches ended.
Borg won her first set in fourth singles. While Favaron also won her first set in her sixth singles match.
Men's Recap
Doubles
Tanner Bedard and Trevor Masi fell in first doubles 6-4.
In second doubles Bryce Bodak and Vid Maric fell 7-5.
Rohan Srivastava and Gurustat Makkar were tied at six in third doubles before the match was stopped since Fairfield already won the doubles point.
Singles
Masi fell in his second singles match 6-2, 6-3.
In third singles, Maric fell 6-1, 6-2.
José Maria García played in fifth singles. He fell 6-1 in the first set and 6-4 in the second set.
Makkar won his first set in fourth singles and was tied at four in the second set before the match was called.
