How it Happened
The Purple and White would outscore Iona 7-1 in the opening frame, with Savage and Crane each recording a hat-trick. Roy would make three saves in the first 15-minutes, two of which came in a minute and half span that kept the game tied at one.

The offense kept clicking in the second quarter as Niagara tallied seven in the frame from five different goal scorers. Lexi Braniecki, scored all three of her goals in the quarter, including two in the final 1:10, to help Niagara take a 14-4 lead into the break.

Iona would start the second half with three-straight goals, cutting the Niagara lead in half with 9:36 to go in the third. However, Niagara would get two back over the next three minutes and change as Savage scored on a free position goal and Garlow found the back of the net during the man-up opportunity, giving the Purple Eagles a 16-7 advantage.
