Niagara Falters After Strong First Half

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Niagara's strong first-half performance wasn't enough to overcome a second-half surge by Bowling Green, as the Purple Eagles fell 76-68 on Tuesday night at the Stroh Center.

How it Happened
Olumide Adelodun led Niagara (1-3) with 13 points, while Jahari Williamson added 12. The Purple Eagles started hot, building a nine-point lead midway through the first half and carried a 37-33 advantage into halftime.

However, Bowling Green (2-3) seized control after the break, outscoring Niagara 43-31 in the second half, including a decisive 32-11 run over a 13-minute stretch to start the period.

The Purple Eagles' offense went cold during that span, shooting just 5-for-19. They finished strong, hitting seven of their final nine shots and outscoring Bowling Green 20-11, but the rally came too late.

Niagara's bench provided a bright spot, contributing 22 points, including nine from Damondre McKnight, who shot a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Jaeden Marshall added seven points and four assists off the bench.

Despite forcing 10 turnovers and scoring 10 second-chance points, the Purple Eagles couldn't contain Bowling Green's Marcus Johnson, who finished with a game-high 24 points on 10-of-11 shooting.
