Late Siena Goal Stuns Niagara, 2-1

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Despite a late equalizer, Niagara fell to Siena as Abby Daly's 88th-minute goal lifted the Saints to a 2-1 victory over the Purple Eagles in MAAC women's soccer action Wednesday at Niagara Field.

How it Happened
The Purple Eagles (5-7-3, 1-6-3) appeared to have salvaged a draw when Isabella Mazzaferro found the back of the net in the 85th minute, equalizing off assists from Zoë Marqué and Raelyn Stranc.

However, Daly's late strike, assisted by Catherine Rogers and Sarah Harnett, dealt Niagara a heartbreaking defeat.

Siena (9-7-2, 6-3-2) opened the scoring in the 26th minute through Megan Stowell, who finished with a game-high five shots on goal.

The Purple Eagles struggled to generate offense throughout the match, managing just six shots total compared to Siena's 19. Goalkeeper Maddie Crosbie kept Niagara in the game with 11 saves.
