YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – Niagara University women's bowling recorded a 1-4 record in five traditional games on Saturday and currently sit in ninth place after two days of competition at the YSU Penguin Classic.
Emily Brock led Niagara with a total pinfall of 284, followed by Katelynn Weber at 927 and
Taylor Strickland at 926.
Game 1: Niagara 840, Roberts Wesleyan 887
Niagara was defeated by Roberts Wesleyan by a narrow 47-pin margin.
Taylor Strickland led NU with a 194.
Game 2: Niagara 914, McKendree 989
Despite
Emily Brock posting a 224 in the contest, Niagara was upended by McKendree.
Game 3: Niagara 962, Valpo 949
Freshman
Jocelyn Smith recorded a 208 to lead the Purple and White to its first win of the day, a 13-pin win over Valpo.
Game 4: Niagara 901, Duquesne 920
Niagara suffered a 19-pin loss to the Dukes in its fourth game of the afternoon. Strickland recorded a 201 to pace the Purple Eagles.
Game 5: Niagara 978, Arkansas State 1045
Arkansas State topped Niagara in the final game of the day, 1045-978. Brock recorded a game-high 254 for Niagara in the loss.
