Reynolds Named Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coach

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Niagara men's basketball head coach Greg Paulus and women's basketball head coach Jada Pierce have announced the hiring of Jake Reynolds as the program's strength and condition coach.

"We are excited to welcome Jake to the Niagara basketball family," said Paulus. "His experience as a former basketball player and working in professional sports add a unique perspective to our program. We look forward to him sharing his passion for development with our student-athletes in helping them maximize their abilities to become the best version of themselves both on and off the court."

"We are thrilled to add Jake to our program as he brings experience in various areas from college athletics to the professional level, which we feel is an asset," said Pierce. "Jake will relate well to our student-athletes since he is a former collegiate basketball player. His energy and passion is contagious."

Reynolds joins Niagara after spending the last year with the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) as a strength & conditioning assistant. With the Blues, Reynolds conducted athlete testing and monitored athletes using First Beat technology during testing, rehab, and practice/workload management. Reynolds was also in charge of the strength and conditioning program overseeing injured athletes' rehabilitation.

"I am elated to be the strength and conditioning coach at Niagara University for the men's and women's basketball programs. I believe in the University, the coaching staff, and student-athletes", commented Reynolds. "I love the game of basketball and the specialty of exercise science. Putting these passions together for great teams is why I got into the field. I am grateful for this next chapter and the amazing opportunity to elevate these programs in every way possible."

While working with the Blues, Reynolds was also a performance specialist with Mercy Sports Performance powered by EXOS, specializing in the organization's late-stage rehab and sport performance programs.

Reynolds' previous work with student-athletes came when he was the NCAA Division I Intern Coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. While at Lindenwood, Reynolds programmed and coached individual sessions for joint/tendon health and vertical performance with select football and basketball student-athletes. He also oversaw the summer football program for freshman and transfer athletes while leading the rehabilitation of injured athletes with individualized programs.

Reynolds received his bachelor's in business administration from Lindenwood in 2021 and his masters in human sciences with an emphasis in sports science and performance specialization from the University in 2023.
