INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Niagara University Department of Athletics had all 18 of its varsity programs score above a 950 Academic Progress Rate, according to the annual data announced by the NCAA Tuesday afternoon.
Of Niagara's 18 varsity programs, three received a perfect multiyear APR score of 1,000, men's golf, men's cross country, and women's swimming & diving. For men's cross country, this was the 11th straight time the program received a perfect 1,000, while men's golf received a 1,000 for the fifth time.
All 18 of Niagara's programs scored above the goal of 930 established by the NCAA and 10 of those teams matched or exceeded their sports' national average APR.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
