POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Niagara (2-19, 0-4 MAAC) dropped a pair of games to the Marist Red Foxes (13-19, 3-1 MAAC) Monday afternoon in MAAC softball action from Poughkeepsie.
Game 1 Recap: F/5 – Niagara 0, Marist 8
• The Red Foxes scored five runs on five hits, including a two-run homer off of Niagara starter
Maddie Hickingbottom in the bottom of the first.
• Marist would add two more in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-0 lead over the Purple and White.

Sage Jackson would come in to pitch for Niagara to start the third. The right hander would pitch two scoreless innings before allowing the walk-off home run in the bottom of the fifth.
• The Purple Eagles put a pair of runners on in the first and second but stranded all four.
Niagara Notes
• Game one marked the seventh time this season that NU has been mercy-ruled.

Lindsay Mayo was plunked for the 11th time this season in the top of the first.
• The loss moves Hickingbottom to 1-9 on the season.
Game 2 Recap: Niagara 3, Marist 7
• Marist would once again strike first in game two, putting up a five-spot in the second inning off of Niagara's starter,
Cara Leone.

Shayna Myshrall picked up the first hit of the game for Niagara, a leadoff single in the third. The senior would later steal home to get Niagara on the board.
• With a runner on second and two outs in the inning,
Maggie Kellner would drive a ball to leftfield for a double, bringing home
Samantha Hare on the play.

Sophia Marrero, the next batter for NU, would also double to left to drive in Kellner and make it a 5-3 ballgame in favor of Marist in the third.
• Hickingbottom, the game one starter for Niagara, came on in relief for NU to start the third, tossing a 1-2-3 inning, including two strikeouts.
• Marist would score runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 7-3 lead over the Purple Eagles.
Niagara Notes
• Kellner picked up her sixth RBI and third double of the season.
• Two of Niagara's five hits in the contest went for extra bases.
• Prior to her hit in the third, Myshrall was 0-for-11 in her last four games.
• Niagara went 3-for-10 at the plate with two outs.

• The Purple Eagles will open the home portion of their schedule on Tuesday, April 4 when they host non-conference foe Youngstown State for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
