Orlando, FL—The Niagara tennis teams wrapped their trips to Florida last week as the men faced Fairleigh Dickinson, Keiser University, and Marquette. The women faced Fairleigh Dickinson, Nebraska-Kearney, and Marquette.
The women's team fell to Fairleigh Dickinson 6-1 on Thursday with Elena Mayet picking up the lone win in second singles as he won the first and third set to take the point.
Against Nebraska-Kearny the women's team fell 5-2 while Enrica Favaron picked up a three set win in fifth singles and Emma Shea picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win in sixth singles. The women's team finished the trip with a 7-0 loss to Marquette.
The men's team fell 5-2 to Fairleigh Dickinson with Manuel Alonso picking up a 6-3,6-3 win in third singles. In fourth singles Jorge Sedeno picked up a win in straight sets.
In their second match on Thursday the men fell to Keiser who is the top team in NAIA. Tanner Bedard won in second singles as he won 6-4, 6-3.
In the final match of the trip the Purple Eagles fell 4-3 to Marquette. The Purple Eagles won the doubles point with Trevor Masi and Bedard winning in first doubles and Roberto Vaca and Rohan Srivistava winning third doubles. Berdard was perfect on the day as he won 6-3, 6-2 in his single match. Masi was also perfect in the match as he won 7-5, 6-4 in third singles.
The Purple Eagles have all MAAC matches remaining as they start MAAC play against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
