Niagara Drops Saturday Meeting with Bentley

Waltham, MA - Niagara dropped its second-straight game and the season series to Bentley following Saturday night's 2-1 loss to the Falcons in Atlantic Hockey action.

First Period
Bentley opened the scoring at the 12:39 mark in the first period. However, Niagara would strike back on the power play when Luke Mylymok sniped one home from the left faceoff circle to even the score at one. The assists came from Josef Mysak and Alex Murrayak.

The Purple Eagles registered nine shots on goal in the opening period.

Second Period
Bentley took a 2-1 lead at the 17:56 mark in the second period, which would be the Falcons' game-winning goal.

Through 40 minutes of play, the purple and white registered 17 shots on goal. Jay Ahearn and Carter Randklev registered three shots on goal through the first two periods.

Jarrett Fiske saw 18 shots his way and stopped all but two. Niagara registered six blocked shots in the second from Tyler Wallace, Glebs Prohorenkovs, Lane Brockhoff, Noah Carlin, Ethan Lund, and Murray.

Prohorenkovs led NU with nine faceoff wins and three blocked shots through two periods of play.

Third Period
Bentley fended off a late Niagara surge in the final five minutes of regulation, even though Niagara had a six-on-five advantage with the goalie pulled.

Niagara later went on a six-on-four power play after Bentley was called for elbowing. The Purple Eagles registered four shots on goal in the final three minutes of regulation but failed to score the game-tying goal.
