NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The visiting Siena Saints (2-7-0, 2-1-0 MAAC) earned a 1-0 victory over Niagara (1-7-2, 1-2-1 MAAC) with a penalty kick goal in the 41st minute of play.

How it Happened
Niagara would get a pair of early chances to score via a set piece in the first 10 minutes, the first a corner kick that found the head of Alberto Sanchez Cervera, but went wide. The next was a free kick that once again found Sanchez Cervera, however, this attempt found the hands of the Siena goalie.

Captain Cameron Roach would come off the bench in the 20th minute and immediately attempt a shot to give NU the lead, but his attempt was met by a Siena defender.

In the 36th minute, Niagara would take three chances, the first from Roach that was blocked, followed by another from Barnes that was blocked and went out for a corner. Nothing would come of the NU set piece, keeping the game scoreless.

Jamie Barry would collide with the Siena attacker in the 41st minute, resulting in a foul in the box and a Siena penalty kick. The Saints would find the back of the net as the sophomore keeper guessed the wrong direction on the shot.

In the second half, Felix Kogler would have a pair of shots thwarted by the Siena goalie, keeping the Siants up by one in the 65th minute.

The Purple Eagles would get a solid chance to even the score in the 70th minute, but Thomas Brooks' shot would go over the crossbar.

Niagara would keep looking for the equalizer in the 85th minute, with a shot to the left side post from Matheus Spina was stopped by the Siena goalie.

Asher Barnes would take the final shot of the night for NU, but it would go wide as Siena earned the 1-0 win.
