BUFFALO, NY – The Niagara men's soccer team got goals from Ali Alomari and Stephen Hasse to earn a 2-0 win over Battle of the Bridge rival Canisius Wednesday night in downtown Buffalo.
Game Recap
First Half
• The Golden Griffins tested the Niagara back line early on Wednesday night, recording a pair of shots in the first 10-minutes of play.
• Niagara's first shot came from
Asher Barnes in the 12th minute.
•
Cameron Roach took a shot in the 24th minute of play but it was wide right.
• Alomari cut across the 18-yard box before rifling a shot into the lower left-hand portion of the net for the Purple Eagles' first goal of the contest.
• Niagara's starting goalie,
Josh Savoni faced three shots in the first half.
Second Half
• Hasse would give Niagara a 2-0 lead in the 54th minute after scrambling for a loose ball in front of the Canisius net.
• Niagara would take three more shots in the contest before the final whistle blew.
• Savoni would see three shots in the second half, none of which pressured the veteran keeper.
