Mihalich Receives 2022 Jim Satalin Award

OLEAN, NY – Former Niagara men's basketball coach and 2021 Niagara Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee Joe Mihalich received the 2022 Jim Satalin Award from the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer program Monday night at the 716 Golf Classic held at the Bartlett Country Club in Olean.

The Satalin award is given annually to an outstanding, sports-minded individual who has assisted the American Cancer Society in its mission to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer through the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative in Western New York.

Mihalich was at the helm of the Niagara men's basketball program from 1998-2013 and compiled 265 wins, which is the most in MAAC history. He was named the MAAC Coach of the Year three times and the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 1 Coach of the Year twice, and was the 2012-13 Skip Prosser Man of the Year.
