NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY - Niagara women's soccer is the first team to get its 2022-23 season started as it travels to Buffalo to take on the Bulls this Sunday.

• Niagara was selected to finish second in the MAAC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll based on a vote by the league's 11 head coaches.
• Purple Eagles Ida Miceli and Djeynaba Thiam were selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
• Niagara went 13-4-1 in 2021 and placed eight Purple Eagles on All-MAAC teams, six of which return to Monteagle Ridge for 2022.
• The Purple Eagles are 3-6-1 over its last 10 meetings with the Bulls. The two teams last met to kickoff 2021, a 6-2 victory for UB.
• Niagara returns eight Purple Eagles who recorded at least two points a season ago, including Thiam, who scored eight goals and had six assists for a total of 22 points in 2021.
Maia MacLean also eclipsed the 20-point plateau in 2021, finding the back of the net seven times and assisting on seven others.

• Niagara welcomes Susan Roarke back as the Associate AD and Senior Woman Administrator. Roarke spent the last three years as the Director of Athletics at Medaille College in downtown Buffalo, NY.
• Former Niagara baseball standout Wynton Bernard made his long-awaited MLB Debut last Friday for the Colorado Rockies, picking up his first Major League hit, stolen base, and run scored. Bernard also picked up his first career RBI in Sunday's series finale against the Diamondbacks.
