Women's Basketball to Host Marist and Monmouth this Weekend

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Purple and White return to Western New York to take on Marist and Monmouth at the Gallagher Center, Thursday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., respectively.  

Thursday's contest with the Red Foxes is Niagara's annual Play-4-Kay Pink Game, while Saturday's game with the Hawks will celebrate Black History Month. 

Last Time Out
• The Purple Eagles won their second-consecutive game this past Monday when it picked up a 65-58 win over Siena at the UHY Center. 
• Niagara was led by Aaliyah Parker, who finished the game 7-for-12 from the field, scoring game-high 19 points.
Angel Parker finished with 17 points, four assists, and three rebounds. 
Olivia Mason grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds while scoring eight points. 
• Niagara forced 32 Siena turnovers, resulting in 23 points for the Purple and White. Niagara now has five games with 30 or more forced turnovers. 
 • The Purple Eagles finished with 38 points in the paint, 14 bench points, and 10-second chance points. 
 • Niagara finished the game shooting 40.7 from the field, its seventh game of the season shooting 40.0 percent or better. 
 • Niagara had 11 assists on the night, with Angel recording a team-high four. 
 • Glover matched her career-high with five points. 
 • All nine Purple Eagles who took the court scored at least two points. 
 • Lore Porter finished with a career-best five steals.

• Angel leads the Purple Eagles with 15.7 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.1 steals per game. 
• Mason is Niagara's leading rebounder with 5.8 boards per game, followed by Aaliyah with 5.7 caroms per contest. 
• Niagara's leader from the floor is senior Maddy Yelle, who comes into this weekend shooting 48.4 percent from the field. 
• Yelle is also the leader from behind the arc this season (40.0 percent), making six of 15 shots. Ally Haar has made the most 3-points this season with 32.
• As a team, Niagara is shooting 67.8 from the charity stripe, with Kyra Grimshaw posting a team-high 86.5 percent mark at the line.
• Niagara leads the MAAC in assists (295, assists per game (14.0), free throws made (284), free throws attempted (419), offensive rebounds per game (15.6), scoring offense (71.5), steals (289), steals per game (13.8), and forced turnovers (26.05).
• Angel leads the nation with 4.1 steals per contest, while Aaliyah is seventh in the MAAC 2.0 steals per game, and Yelle is 11th in league with 1.71 steals per contest. 
• In league play, Niagara has scored 323 points off turnovers, averaging 24.8 in 13 league games. Niagara has scored more than 30 off turnovers twice in league play. 
• Niagara is coming off its first-back-to-back league wins since beating Manhattan and Canisius in back-to-back games earlier this season. 
• The Purple Eagles will be looking for their first three-game win streak in league play since the 2019-20 season.

• Niagara will travel to Iona for its first meeting with the Gaels this season. Iona and the Purple and White will tip-off from the Hynes Athletic Center at 7 p.m.
