Women's Basketball Welcomes Siena and Quinnipiac to Monteagle Ridge

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Purple Eagles return to Monteagle Ridge this weekend to take on Siena (Thursday, Jan. 27 – 6 p.m.) and Quinnipiac (Saturday, Jan. 29 – 1 p.m.) inside the Gallagher Center. Both games will air live on ESPN3.

Last Time Out:
• Niagara fell to Marist last Saturday by the final score of 72-65 at McCann Arena in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
• Junior Angel Parker finished with 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and seven steals to pace the Purple and White.
• Senior Olivia Mason finished with eight points and six rebounds, the seventh time this season, she recorded at least five points and five boards in a game.
• Niagara finished with 44 rebounds, compared to 38 for the Red Foxes.
• The Purple Eagles finished with 36 points in the paint, 22 off the bench, and 20 off turnovers.
 

Niagara Notes
• The Purple and White are 3-5 in MAAC play and 6-10 overall after going 1-2 during its most recent road trip.
• Angel leads the Purple Eagles in scoring, averaging 15.5 points per game, while also pacing Niagara in steals and assists with 4.5 and 5.2 per contest.
• Niagara freshman Aaliyah Parker earned her third MAAC Rookie of the Week award this past Monday
• In three games last week, Aaliyah averaged 16.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals off the bench for the Purple and White.
• The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC in steals (227), steals per game (14.2), and turnovers forced per game (25.69).
• Angel is the nation's leader in steals per game, averaging 4.53 takeaways per contest.
• Aaliyah Parker and MaddyYelle rank sixth and eighth in the MAAC in steals per game with 2.07 and 1.94 per contest.
• According to stats.ncaa.org, the Purple Eagles lead the MAAC free throw attempts (318), made free throws (222), offensive rebounds per game (16.9), scoring offense (69.9), steals (227), steals per game (14.2) and turnovers forced per game (25.69).
• Kyra Grimshaw was on fire through the first five league games, averaging 13.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
• Sydney Faulcon and Mason are two mainstays in the frontcourt for Niagara, averaging 5.8 and 5.6 points per game while also grabbing 4.4 and 5.3 boards per contest.
• Lore Porter has played 18.8 minutes per contest off the bench, scoring 4.2 points.

Series History vs. Siena
• Siena and Niagara have played each other 81 times, with Siena leading the all-time series 49-32.
• The last time the two teams met was during the MAAC Tournament a year ago, with Siena coming out on top 74-65.
 

Series History vs. Quinnipiac
• Niagara is 1-16 all-time against the Bobcats.
• The Purple Eagles won its first-ever game against Quinnipiac last season 78-69 at the Gallagher Center.

• Niagara will once again be on the road for three games following its home stand. The Purple and White will take on Fairfield (Feb. 3), Manhattan (Feb. 5) and Siena (Feb. 7) before returning to Western New York.
