NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men's basketball program has announced its non-conference slate for the 2021-22 season.

Before officially starting non-conference play, the Purple Eagles will host Cazenovia for an exhibition game on Monday, Nov. 1.

The Purple Eagles open the season at Xavier on Tuesday, Nov. 9. This will be the 11^th all-time meeting between NU and the Musketeers and is the teams' first meeting since the 1988-89 season.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, the Purple Eagles take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus. It is the first all-time meeting between Niagara and Ohio State.

Niagara will compete in a multi-team event, hosted by Youngstown State, Nov. 19-21. NU plays Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) on Nov.19, St. Thomas on Nov. 20 and Youngstown State on Nov. 21.

The Purple Eagles play at Colgate on Nov. 29 and at Eastern Michigan on Dec. 8. This will be the 49^th meeting between the Purple Eagles and the Red Raiders. NU last played Colgate on Dec. 8, 2019 and defeated the Red Raiders, 93-82, in overtime. The Purple Eagles last matched up with Eastern Michigan in the first round of the 2018 CIT.

On Dec. 12, the Purple Eagles welcome Buffalo State to the Gallagher Center. This will be the 45^th meeting between NU and the Bengals, with the series dating back to 1929-30.

Niagara plays in the Big 4 Basketball Doubleheader at the KeyBank Center on Dec. 18. The Purple Eagles will face Albany. It is their fourth straight season facing the Great Danes. Ticket information and game times will be announced at a later date.

The Purple Eagles close out their non-conference schedule at Binghamton on Dec. 21. This will be just the third all-time meeting between NU and the Bearcats.
