WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Niagara Purple Eagles had their season come to an end by the four-time defending MAAC champions Monmouth Hawks for the fourth straight season in a 1-0 defeat in the quarterfinals on Friday.

GAME RECAP
The Purple Eagles had their best chances for a goal in the first half. Kelsey Araujo forced a save in the 11th minute and Emma Bough's effort in the 39th minute was Niagara's best scoring chance as her quick strike outside of the box was saved.

The Hawks kept possession in the Niagara's defensive end for the majority of the second half and eventually scored the winner in the 69th minute. Sarina Jones received a pass from a throw-in and her pass found Lauren Karabin in the box who turned and shot to beat the keeper in the upper-90.
