NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles pulled out a 4-3 victory over Queens College on Saturday afternoon.  
 
MATCH SUMMARY
Doubles
  • Niagara took the doubles point with wins in No. 1 and 2 doubles.
  • In two doubles, Eduardo Villalpando and Pere Padro cruised to a 6-2 win.
  • After falling in three doubles, the doubles point came down to the one slot where Manuel Alonso and Jorge Sedeno squeaked out a 7-6(5) victory.
Singles
  • Eduardo Villalpando won in six singles, 6-3, 6-2, to give Niagara a 2-0 lead.
  • Jorge Sedeno picked up a straight-set win in two singles for a 3-0 lead.
  • Queens earned close wins in four and five singles to cut the score to 3-2.
  • In one singles, Manuel Alonso bounced back from losing the first set, 6-4, to win the next two sets, 7-5, 6-3, to clinch the match.
