NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles were unable to hold off a rally by the Fairfield Stags, falling 4-3 on Saturday night. Niagara led 3-0 and was one win away from clinching the match.
 
MATCH SUMMARY

Doubles

• Niagara won the doubles point for the second straight match. The Purple Eagles picked up wins in two and three doubles.
• After Niagara's No. 1 doubles team lost for the first time this season, the No. 2 and 3 teams came through.
• In two doubles, Olga Donchu and Jaida Borg won 6-3 and in three doubles Coral Rodriguez and Madigan Humiston edged their opponent, 6-4.

 
Singles

• The Purple Eagles led 3-0 after wins in two and four singles.
• Elena Mayet eased past Katarina Plumtree, 6-1, 6-1 in two singles.
• Jaida Borg dominated her opponent, 6-0, 6-0, in four singles.
• The Stage earned wins in five and six singles in straight sets.
• The final two matches went three sets.
• Coral Rodriguez won the first set, 6-2, but dropped the next two 6-3, 6-3 in three singles.
• In one singles, Olga Donchu forced a third set before falling 6-3.
