NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y.- Angel Parker converted a 3-point play in the final seconds of Saturday's game to lift the Purple Eagles over Saint Peter's, 83-82. It is Niagara's 11th straight victory against the Peacocks.

Game Recap
1st Quarter
  • The Purple Eagles got off to a quick start with Ally Haar making a 3-pointer within the first 12 seconds of the first quarter.
  • A three from Parker with 7:21 left in the quarter put Niagara ahead of the Peacocks, 6-2.
  • The Peacocks took their first lead of the game, 15-14, with 2:40 to go, but four points from Valentina Pepic and another triple from Haar put the Purple Eagles on top, 21-15, going into the second quarter.
2nd Quarter
  • The Peacocks went on an 8-2 run to open the second quarter to tie the score, 23-23, with a little over six minutes remaining in the first half.
  • The Purple Eagles and the Peacocks traded buckets, but four points from Sydney Faulcon left NU trailing Saint Peter's by just two points, 30-28.
  • With 1:25 to go, Haar made her third triple of the game, putting the Purple Eagles down by just one point, 34-33.
  • A jumper from Parker put Niagara back in the lead, but two free throws from the Peacocks put them back ahead by one, 36-35.
  • Brooklyn Jones ended the quarter on a high note for the Purple Eagles, making a 3-point shot with just five seconds remaining to give Niagara a 38-36 lead at halftime.
3rd Quarter
  • Haar converted a 3-point play early in the third quarter to extend Niagara's lead, 40-36.
  • The Purple Eagles soon went on a 6-0 run to take a 46-42 lead over the Peacocks with over seven and a half minutes remaining in the third quarter.
  • The Peacocks answered with a 5-0 run to take a one-point lead, 47-46, with 4:33 to go.
  • A 3-point play from Maddy Yelle gave Niagara the two-point advantage, but Saint Peter's quickly tied the score, 49-49.
  • Back-to-back threes from Haar and Parker put the Purple Eagles back ahead, 55-49, with a little over two and a half minutes to go in the third.
  • The Purple Eagles held onto the lead and had a one-point advantage, 58-57, at the end of the third quarter.
4th Quarter
  • The game intensified in the fourth quarter as the Purple Eagles and the Peacocks traded buckets and the lead.
  • With 4:35 to go, Haar recorded her fifth trey of the game, giving Niagara a 67-63 lead over Saint Peter's.
  • Niagara and Saint Peter's continued to trade baskets and NU had a four-point lead, 80-76, with 20 seconds left in the game.
  • With 12 seconds left, the Peacocks tied the score, 80-80, and with just three seconds remaining, a jumper gave Saint Peter's the lead, 82-80.
  • The Purple Eagles were undaunted. Parker made a layup as time expired and was fouled on the play. She headed to the line for one shot, sinking her free throw to ice the 83-82 victory for the Purple Eagles.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Parker recorded her third double-double of the season with 18 points and a career-high 12 assists. She was just shy of a triple-double, also adding a team-high eight rebounds.
  • Haar also added 18 points, just one shy of her career-high, and made a career-best five 3-pointers.
  • Faulcon scored a career-high 15 points, while Yelle added 11 points and Olivia Mason scored 10 points.
