LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Purple Eagles fell to Rider, 68-54, on Sunday to split their season series with the Broncs.

Game Recap
1st Quarter
  • The Broncs took an early 6-2 lead over Niagara, but a 3-pointer from Ally Haar cut Rider's lead to one point, 6-5, with six and a half minutes left to play in the first quarter.
  • Rider led the Purple Eagles, 11-5, with five minutes to go, but a jumper from Haar, a layup from Maddy Yelle and a trey from Brooklyn Jones put Niagara in the lead, 12-11, at the end of the quarter.
2nd Quarter
  • Rider scored first in the second quarter to take a 14-12 lead, but a bucket from Yelle tied things up, 14-14, with eight minutes to go.
  • The Purple Eagles soon went on a 10-0 run, including back-to-back 3-pointers from Haar, to take a 26-17 lead over Rider with 5:17 left to play.
  • Niagara maintained the lead over the Broncs, going into halftime ahead, 31-23.
3rd Quarter
  • The Broncs went on a 13-1 run within the first six minutes of the third quarter, shifting the momentum of the game and taking a 38-32 lead over the Purple Eagles.
  • Two points from both Mason and Haar brought Niagara back within three points of the Broncs, 39-36, with three minutes remaining in the third quarter.
  • With 1:07 left in the quarter, Yelle sank a 3-point shot, putting Niagara down by just two points, 43-41.
  • Rider, however, remained in the lead, 50-43, at the end of the third quarter.
4th Quarter
  • Mason opened scoring in the fourth quarter, bringing Niagara back within five points of Rider, 50-45, but the Broncs went on a 6-0 run to extend their lead, 56-45.
  • Another three from Yelle and two free throws from Jones left Niagara trailing by just four points, 56-52, with 2:23 left in the fourth quarter.
  • The Broncs held the Purple Eagles to just two more points in the remainder of the quarter to earn the 68-54 win.

Eagle's Eye On
  • Yelle led the Purple Eagles in scoring and rebounding with 18 points and nine rebounds, which are both career-highs. She also had a career-high three steals, tying Mason for the team-high.
  • Haar added 13 points.
  • Angel Parker had a team-high four assists and brought down eight rebounds.
  • Saige Glover blocked a career-high two shots.
