LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Five Purple Eagles scored in double figures as Niagara won its first road game of the season, 65-59, against Rider on Saturday afternoon.

Game Recap
1st Quarter
  • The Purple Eagles got off to a quick start, taking an early 6-2 lead over the Broncs.
  • Rider came within one point of the Purple Eagles twice, but a jumper from Olivia Mason and a layup from Sydney Faulcon kept Niagara ahead, 10-7, with about three minutes to play in the first quarter.
  • A layup from Ally Haar put Niagara ahead, 12-9, with a little under two and a half minutes to go, but Rider went on 4-0 run to close out the quarter and led Niagara by one point, 13-12, going into the second.
2nd Quarter
  • An early layup from the Broncs gave them a 15-12 lead, but a triple from Brooklyn Jones tied things up, 15-15, with over nine and a half minutes remaining in the first half.
  • With a little under five minutes to go, the Purple Eagles and the Broncs were tied again, 20-20, but Niagara went on a 7-0 run to reclaim the lead, 27-20.
  • The Broncs answered with a 6-0 run to cut Niagara's lead to one point, 27-26, but two free throws from Mason and a jumper from Angel Parker gave the Purple Eagles a 31-28 lead heading into halftime.
3rd Quarter
  • Layups from Parker and Haar put the Purple Eagles ahead, 35-30, but a 3-pointer from Rider cut NU's lead to two points, 35-33, with 7:26 left to go in the third quarter.
  • The Purple Eagles and the Broncs traded buckets for the remainder of the quarter and Niagara maintained a two-point lead, 42-40, going into the fourth quarter.
4th Quarter
  • The Purple Eagles got off to a hot start in the fourth quarter, going on an 8-0 run, including points from Parker, Faulcon and Maddy Yelle, to take their biggest lead of the game, 50-40.
  • The Broncs scored six unanswered points, cutting Niagara's lead to four points, 50-46, with a little under six minutes left to play.
  • With 3:59 to go, Niagara led the Broncs by just two points, 52-50, but the Purple Eagles went on an 8-0 run, which included four more points from Faulcon, to bring their lead back to 10 points, 60-50.
  • With just 16 seconds left to play, Rider came back within three points of the Purple Eagles, 62-59, but Niagara held onto its lead to win the game, 65-59.

Eagle's Eye On
  • Parker led the Purple Eagles with 16 points and 11 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season. She also dished out a team-high five assists.
  • Faulcon added 10 points and brought down a career-high eight rebounds.
  • Haar, Mason and Yelle all added 10 points for the Purple Eagles. Mason also had eight rebounds and a team-best three steals.
