Women's Soccer Hosts Marist for Regular Season Finale

GAME 17: Niagara (12-4, 6-3) vs. Marist (5-5-3, 4-3-2)
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Niagara women's soccer program will close out the regular season on Wednesday at 3 p.m. when they welcome Marist to Niagara Field.

Series History
• Niagara is 4-6 in the last 10 meetings with Marist, with all four wins coming at home.
• The last time the Red Foxes were on Monteagle Ridge was Oct. 3, 2018, the Purple Eagles came away with a 3-1 win over the conference foe.

Niagara Notes
Florence Vaillancourt leads the team with 11 goals, 10 assists and 32 points. She is second in the MAAC in goals and first in assists and total points.
• Vaillancourt is one of the most prolific scorers in the nation. The junior currently ranks 25th in goals (0.73), 10th in assists (0.67) and fourth in points per game (2.13), while also ranking eighth in game-winning goals (5) and second in shot accuracy (.737).
• The Quebec City, Quebec native is climbing her way up the single-season record book as she currently tied for second in assists, eighth in points and tied for 10th in goals
Djeynaba Thiam is second on the team with eight tallies, a career-best for the junior. The Rochester, NY product also has six assists on the year for a total of 22 points.
Maia MacLean is the MAAC's leading freshman in terms of scoring. The first-year midfielder has seven goals, six assists and 20 points.
• Another rookie getting time for the Purple Eagles this season is goalie Felicia Grufman. The Swedish keeper has played in 12 games, making 11 starts. She has a goals-against-average of 1.20 and save percentage of 71.7 percent.
• As a team, Niagara is first in the MAAC in assists (2.62) and points per game (7.75), while also leading in scoring offense (2.56), shots on goal percentage (75.0), total assists (42), total goals (41) and total points (124).

Marist Notes
• Amanda Cardarelli leads Marist with four goals, while Bridget Dudziec is the team's leader with four assists.
• Natalie Kelchner has played 13 games in goal for the Red Foxes. She has a 0.72 goals-against average and save percentage of 88.6 percent.

MAAC Women's Soccer Championship Preview
• Niagara has clinched its spot in the upcoming MAAC Women's Soccer Championship and are playing for a chance to host a quarterfinal contest at Niagara Field.
• A win or tie against the Red Foxes on Wednesday will secure Niagara into one of the top-four spots heading into the postseason.
• Monmouth has already secured the top spot in the MAAC Women's Soccer Championship, their sixth MAAC Women's Soccer Regular-Season Title.

• Niagara will await the results from Wednesday's MAAC women's soccer action to determine when and where they will play on Sunday, Oct. 31 in the quarterfinal round.
