Women's Soccer Welcomes Rider to Monteagle Ridge for Senior Day

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Niagara women's soccer team returns home following a 2-0 shutout win over Siena on Wednesday for a Saturday contest with Rider. The Purple Eagles will honor six seniors prior to the noon kickoff.
 
Senior Day
• Niagara will honor Mackenzie Mix, Alexis Horwedel, Zoe Janes, Lauren Kelch, Ashley Lofranco and Taylor Requa prior to the contest.
• The Senior Day ceremony is set to begin at approximately 11:45 a.m.
 
Series History
• Niagara is 4-4-2 against Rider in the last 10 meetings between the two schools.
• The Purple Eagles have won three of the last four games against the Broncs, including a pair of 2-1 wins at Niagara Field.
 
Niagara Notes
Florence Vaillancourt scored her 10th goal of the season in Wednesday's win over Siena and recorded her eighth assist of the season on Ida Miceli's goal.
• Miceli's goal was her second of the season, moving her points total to six.
• Freshman Maia MacLean has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week three times this season. The Niagara Falls, Ontario native has seven goals and four assists on the year.
Annie Ibey notched her second assist of the season against the Saints, as she found Vaillancourt with a cross to give Niagara a 2-0 lead.
Felicia Grufman, earned her first solo clean sheet of the season, making three saves for her sixth win of the season.
• On the season, Niagara is second in the conference with a 2.769 goals per game average.
• Eight Purple Eagles have scored at least two goals this season, while seven have registered two or more assists.
 
Rider Notes
• The Broncs are 5-6-2 overall and 3-3-1 in MAAC play this season following a 2-1 win over Marist last week.
• Rider is led by Chloe Fisher who has six goals, four assists and 12 points. Makenzie Rodrigues is second on the team with five goals.
• Elle Sciancalepore has played over 1,000-minutes in goal for the Broncs this season, accumulating a 1.42 GAA and .818 save percentage.
