NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Sydney Faulcon led the Purple Eagles with a career-high 14 points as Niagara fell to Marist, 67-45, on Saturday.

Game Recap
1st Quarter
  • The Red Foxes took and early 10-2 lead over the Purple Eagles, but two points from both Angel Parker and Sydney Faulcon brought NU within four points of the lead, 10-6, with a little over five minutes to play in the first quarter.
  • Another bucket from Parker cut Marist's lead to three, 13-10, with about four minutes to go.
  • Two more points from Faulcon and Parker and a basket from Ally Haar left Niagara trailing by just one point, 17-16, going into the second quarter.
2nd Quarter
  • Faulcon and Parker continued their strong play in the second quarter, each scoring within the first three minutes to give the Purple Eagles their only lead of the game, 20-19.
  • Marist, however, soon went on a 9-run to take a 34-23 lead over the Purple Eagles.
  • A triple from Maddy Yelle and three free throws from Haar cut the Red Foxes' lead, but Marist maintained a 36-29 advantage at the half.
3rd Quarter
  • Two more free throws from Haar with a little under nine minutes left in the third quarter put Niagara down by just eight points, 39-31.
  • With a little under five minutes to go, a bucket from Yelle put the Purple Eagles within five points of the Red Foxes, 41-36.
  • With 0.2 seconds to go, and with the Red Foxes ahead 50-38, Parker sank a 3-point buzzer beater to put Niagara back within striking distance of Marist, 50-41.
4th Quarter
  • The Red Foxes dominated the fourth quarter, holding the Purple Eagles to just four points, all of which were scored by Faulcon.
  • Marist came away with the 67-45 victory to sweep the season series.

Eagle's Eye On
  • Faulcon's 14 points are a career-high. She went a career-best 5-for-7 from the field and tied her career-high in free throws made with four. Faulcon played 20 minutes, which is also a career-high.
  • Haar dished out a career-high five assists.
  • Parker led the team in rebounding with six boards. Parker also added 13 points. She has scored in double figured in three out of four games so far this season. She also had four assists and three steals.
  • Olivia Mason had a team-high four steals.
