Cardinals Emerge Victorious Over Niagara

 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Despite a four-point (3 G, 1 A) day from Jenna Brill, the Niagara women's lacrosse team was defeated, 17-7, by Louisville.
 
Game Recap
  • Lucy Rugaber scored 5:14 into the game to tie the score at 1-1.
  • Shea Swartwout alted a run of four straight goals by the Cardinals to make it 5-2 with 12:47 gone in the opening half.
  • Niagara approached halftime on an upswing, getting goals from Jenna Brill and Mackenzie Travis inside four minutes left to narrow the gap to 7-4.
  • Brill netted two more goals within the first 10 minutes of the second half, completing the hat trick with 9:38 off the clock to make it 11-6 Louisville.
  • Mckenna Rinehart scored with 29 seconds left in the game to make it 17-7.

Defensive Spotlight
  • Brill and Lauren Paul led Niagara with three ground balls each.
  • Paul also added a team-best three caused turnovers.
  • Michelle Messenger went the full 60 minutes, making 20 saves on 37 shots on goal.
