CLEARWATER, Fla. – Facing Army West Point in a doubleheader, the Niagara softball team fell on both ends of the contest, by 12-1 and 10-1 scores.
 
Game One: Army West Point 12, Niagara 1 (5 inn.)

• Down by 12 entering the fifth inning, the Purple Eagles did their best to narrow the gap and extend the game. A two-out walk to Maria Gabriele brought Kelsey Harrigan on to pinch run. The next batter, Shayna Myshrall, doubled into right-center, scoring Harrigan from first.

 
Game One Stats Spotlight

• Myshrall went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI to lead the Purple Eagles' offense.

 
Game Two: Army West Point 10, Niagara 1 (5 inn.)

• After the Black Knights plated seven runs in their half of the first, Niagara shut them down in the second, getting three straight groundouts to retire the side in order.
• Entering the fourth inning, the Purple Eagles faced a 10-0 deficit. With two outs and no one aboard, Riley Crum singled down the left field line to get things moving for Niagara. Myshrall followed with a single down the opposite line, setting Crum up at third. Avianna Peterson then batted her home with a shot into left.

• Four Niagara batters collected one hit apiece, while Peterson collected the team's lone RBI.
