ALBANY, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles started their final road swing of the season with a 77-55 setback against conference-leading Siena on Wednesday night.

A momentum shifting run by the Saints to start the second half created separation from the Purple Eagles after a tightly contested opening half. Â Â Â

The first half featured six ties and nine lead changes with neither team leading by more than four points.
Justin Roberts scored all of his team-high 12 first half points in a row from the 8:45 mark to the 3:10 mark in the half. Niagara outscored Siena, 12-6, during the stretch for a 26-24 advantage. A 3-pointer by Siena's Donald Carey with 15 seconds remaining in the first half broke a 30-30 tie as the Saints went into halftime leading 33-30.

The Saints seized control of the game in the opening two minutes of the second half. They scored eight straight points on their way to outscoring the Purple Eagles, 25-4, through the first eight minutes of the half. Siena pushed its lead to as much as 28 points in the second frame as the Saints denied the Purple Eagles the chance to win both meetings this season. Â

- James Towns scored 13 points to be in double figures for the second straight game.
