LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Nick MacDonald scored a career-high 18 points to lead all scorers as the Purple Eagles fell to the Rider Broncs, 73-58, on Sunday afternoon.

Game Summary
 
Slow offensive starts to both halves doomed the Purple Eagles in their attempt to sweep the season series for the first time in 13 years.

The Purple Eagles scored their first points on a Greg Kuakumensah jumper at the 14:48 mark with the Broncs leading 9-0.
 
Niagara faced a 30-14 deficit with 3:52 remaining in the first half, but outscored the Broncs 12-5 in a two-minute span to trim Rider's lead to 35-26.  The Broncs went into halftime up 40-29.
 
The Broncs opened the second half on a 17-3 run in eight minutes of play to create separation. Rider had its largest lead, 65-34, with 8:46 left in the contest as the Broncs limited Niagara to five points in 12 minutes.
 
Nick MacDonald scored all seven points as part of 7-2 run as NU trailed 67-41 with 6:46 remaining. Niagara closed the final 5:57 on a 17-3 run, including scoring the game's final 14 points, with MacDonald scoring eight of his career-high 18 points during that span.  
 
 
Eagle's Eye On…
  • Nick MacDonald set a career-high in scoring with a game-high 18 points. MacDonald went 7 for 10 from the field and made a career-best four 3-pointers.
  • Greg Kuakumensah finished with 12 points to be in double figures for the third straight game and for the 13th time this season.

  • Niagara forced 19 turnovers which are tied for second most this season.
