No. 20 Sacred Heart Blanks Niagara

 
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Niagara University men's hockey team was defeated, 6-0, at Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon.
 
Game Recap
  • Less than two minutes into the game, Sacred Heart was assessed a penalty for tripping. On the power play, Jared Brandt and Eric Cooley got shots on net, but were ultimately turned aside.
  • Between the 4:55 mark and the 6:48 mark, Chad Veltri was called upon to make some massive saves. In the span of 1:53, the freshman denied the Pioneers on six shots.

  • On the penalty kill just minutes later, Veltri made three more saves, while Alex Truscott and Jordan Wishman aided the defensive effort with blocked shots.
  • Niagara made a goalie change midway through the game, swapping Veltri in favor of Brian Wilson. Veltri left the game with 23 saves on 26 shots in 29:11 of ice time.
  • In relief, Wilson stopped 18 of 21 shots faced in 30:49 between the pipes.
