NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles fell  94-67 to the MAAC preseason favorite Marist Red Foxes on Saturday. 

Game Recap

• Marist opened the game on a 24-0 run before Ally Haar hit a three-pointer. Marist finished the first quarter shooting 78.9% from the field with a 32-7 lead.
• Jai Moore racked up 13 points in the second quarter while accounting for 17 of the 22 total points Niagara had going into halftime.
• The Purple Eagles came out of halftime strong, as they outscored the Red Foxes 30-21 while also outrebounding Marist 10-5 in the third quarter. Eight different Purple Eagles found themselves in the scoring column including a last second layup by Dagny Davidsdottir to close out the quarter.
• Emerald Ekpiteta stopped a 5-0 run from the Red Foxes in the fourth quarter with a free throw. Jordan Edwards closed out the game with the final points, hitting a three-pointer as the Purple Eagles fell to the Red Foxes 94-67.  

 
Eagle's Eye On…

• Moore had her 11th double figures scoring game of the season, finishing with 23 points.  
• Davidsdottir and Ekpiteta were effective on the boards grabbing nine and seven rebounds, respectively.
• Angel Parker led the team in assists with four.
• Edwards, Moore and Maggie McIntyre each converted two three-pointers.

• The Purple Eagles head on the road to New Rochelle for a matchup against the Iona Gaels at 7:00pm on Jan. 16. The game will air on ESPN+.
