NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's tennis team eased to a 6-1 victory over the Rider Broncs to open its conference schedule on the newly-renovated Niagara Tennis Courts on Saturday.

MATCH SUMMARY
Doubles

• The team of Erika Gonzalez and Megan Gamble defeated Rider's Amanda Binder and Sarah Cheverie, 6-4.
• Niagara won in three doubles by default to win the point.
   

Singles

• The Purple Eagles won five of the six singles matches.
• Olga Donchu beat Cyd Melendez, 6-4, 6-4, in one singles.
• Andreea Peteu defeated Angelica Garcia, 7-5, 7-6 (6) in two singles.
• Gonzalez topped Sarah Cheverie, 6-2, 7-5, in three singles.
• Madigan Huminston rallied to win in three sets.
   

PURPLE POINTS

• Erika Gonzalez won her fourth straight match to improve to 6-2 on the season.
• Olga Donchu improved to 5-2 after winning her third straight match.
• The team of Megan Gamble/Erika Gonzalez won its fourth straight match.
