NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Freshman sensation
Ludwig Stenlund scored his seventh power play goal of the year to balloon his scoring streak to eight straight games, but the Niagara men's hockey team was overpowered by Sacred Heart, 6-3, in front of nearly 900 fans at Dywer Arena. The Purple Eagles got off to a hot, 2-0 start before the Pioneers eventually closed the door with five unanswered goals.

- 8:02 into the game, Ludwig Stenlund buried a one-timer on the power play to extend his program record to eight consecutive games with a goal.
- Less than three minutes later, with another man advantage, Luke Edgerton doubled Niagara's lead with his fourth goal of the season. On both power play goals, Noah Delmas had the lone assist.
- After the Pioneers got one back, Ruslan Rakhmatov was sent to the locker room for a boarding infraction, putting Sacred Heart down to 17 skaters on the bench. The five-minute major bled over into the second period, where Justin Kendall tagged the visitors for a third power play goal just 45 seconds into the middle frame.

- Stenlund's eight-game scoring streak continues to extend his program record. His first period goal put him alone in first place nationally among freshmen with seven power play goals on the year. Stenlund is also tied for first in the country with three shorthanded goals.
