Dominic Robb scored his 1,000
th career point and tied the program's career blocks mark while leading the Purple Eagles with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks as NU was defeated by the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 78-60, on Sunday.
Game Summary
After two early lead changes, the Peacocks broke a 4-4 tie with an 8-0 run. A 3-pointer by
Marvin Prochet halted the run as Niagara outscored Saint Peter's, 7-2, over the next two minutes. The Peacocks pushed their lead to 14 points after a 17-6 run to lead 31-17 with 6:31 left.
Niagara gradually chipped away at the deficit in the final five minutes of the half.
James Towns began the push with five straight points and Niagara scored the last five points of the half to trail 37-31 at the break.
Niagara trailed 42-35 two minutes into the second half before outscoring the Peacocks 10-4 in a six-minute span. The run started with a 6-0 spurt to cut the lead to 42-41. The Purple Eagles, then, trailed 46-45 with 11:55 remaining after a pair of made free throws by Prochet. However, Saint Peter's seized control of the game on the next possession when Samuel Idowu connected on a 3-pointer to spark a 17-4 run over the next six minutes.
NU cut the lead to 65-55 after 3-pointers by Prochet and
James Towns, but the Peacocks outscored the Purple Eagles, 13-5, in the final four minutes of the contest.

- Dominic Robb led the Purple Eagles with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.
- James Towns scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds in 30 minutes.
- Marvin Prochet scored 11 points to be in double figures for a team-high 22nd time.
- Marcus Hammond had nine points, three rebounds, a team-high two assists and one steal in his first career start.

- Dominic Robb joined the 1,000-Point Club in the game. Robb and Joe Arlauckas are the only Purple Eagles in program history with 1,000 career points and 200 career blocks.
- Dominic Robb is now tied for first in career blocks with 220 after swatting three shots.
- Marvin Prochet moved into 22nd on the career scoring list (1,299).
- Niagara outscored Saint Peter's, 33-10, in bench points.
