NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Keyed by a fast start and six-point efforts from both
Caroline Crump and
Rachel MacCheyne, the Niagara women's lacrosse team moved to 3-0 on the season following a 16-6 thumping of Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.
Game Recap

- Fithall put Niagara up 2-0 on a free position shot just minutes later. The strike was Fithall's first of the year.

- After 10 minutes of scoreless play that included a huge point-blank stick save from Maren Geiger, MacCheyne took a feed from Swartwout and lofted it in for Niagara's sixth goal of the game with 11:16 left in the first half.
- Following a Blue Devils' yellow card, Niagara had a two-minute man-advantage. On the man-up, MacCheyne tallied her third goal of the half to make it a 7-0 game.

- Crump earned a hat trick 1:30 into the second half, putting Niagara up, 9-3. On the ensuing draw, MacCheyne swiped the ball and Fithall fed Swartwout for the team's 10th goal just 14 seconds later.
- MacCheyne's fourth goal of the game came on a slick pickup to the left of the Blue Devils' goalkeeper. MacCheyne scooped up the loose ball, spun around and let go a low shot that made it 11-3 2:40 into the half.
- Crump matched MacCheyne with her fourth strike on a free position attempt with 24:09 left on the clock, then passed her with her fifth goal six minutes later.
- Not to be outdone, MacCheyne earned her fifth goal of the game with 13:23 remaining on a nifty deke across the goalmouth.
