The Niagara Purple Eagles will play their second home game of the season when they welcome the Colgate Raiders on Sunday, December 8 at 1 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  The Purple Eagles picked up their first win of the season in their most recent outing. Niagara defeated Norfolk State, 65-61, in a nailbiter on December 1. In a game full of momentum swings, the Purple Eagles used a pivotal 12-0 run midway through the second half to retake the lead for good en route to first-year head coach Greg Paulus' first win.
•  Niagara is in a stretch of games where the Purple Eagles will play six out of seven games away from the Gallagher Center. Niagara's lone home game will be against Colgate.
•  Niagara's two home games in November and December are the program's fewest home games since the 1993-94 season. NU did not have a single home game in either November or December and played their first home game on January 6, 1994.
•  Niagara's next five games will be against teams from New York state.
•  The Purple Eagles and Raiders renew their series, which began during the 1914-15 season, for the first time in 19 years.
 
Tipoff Tidbits
•  James Towns and Raheem Solomon are the only Purple Eagles to average in double figures scoring with Towns leading the team with 13.7 points per game followed by Solomon's 11.7 points per game.
•  Greg Kuakumensah became the first Purple Eagle this season to record a double-double. He collected his second career double-double with 10 points and team-high 10 rebounds against Bryant to become the first Purple Eagle this season with double digit boards.
•  James Towns is 150 points away from reaching the 1,000-point threshold.
•  Marcus Hammond, who leads the team in assists at 3.0 per game, led Niagara in assists with a season-high seven against Norfolk State. Hammond's career-high in assists are eight.
•  Niagara had season-highs in points (80), 3-pointers (8), free throws (22),assists (16), and steals (6) against Stephen F. Austin. The Purple Eagles shot over 55 percent (55.6 %) from the field for the first time since February 23, 2018.
•  James Towns netted a season-high 21 points against Bryant on November 18 for his fourth career 20-point game. Towns also pulled down a career-high eight rebounds.
•  Freshman Noah Waterman led the Purple Eagles with a career-high 15 points in his first career start at Stephen F. Austin. He also grabbed three rebounds, added two assists and had one block in 35 minutes of action.
 • Five Purple Eagles were in double figures scoring – Noah Waterman, Marcus Hammond, James Towns, Raheem Solomon, and Justin Roberts – at Stephen F. Austin for first time in 12 games.
 • Niagara grabbed a season-high 35 rebounds and tied a season-high in steals with six versus Bryant.
 
On The Court
Colgate Raiders (6-3, 0-0 Patriot)
•  Colgate was the unanimous choice as favorites in the Patriot League preseason poll. The Raiders return their top five leading scorers from last season's 24-11 team that won the Patriot League and played in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
•  After starting the season 1-3 with defeats at Clemson, Syracuse and Auburn, the Raiders have won their last five games.
•  Four Raiders are averaging double figures scoring - Jordan Burns (16.8 ppg), Rapolas Ivanauskas (12.8 ppg), Will Rayman (11.0 ppg), and Nelly Cummings (10.4 ppg).
•  Burns and Ivanauskas were both named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
•  Colgate is ranked 11th in the most recent Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
•  The Raiders rank in the top-10 in the nation in 3-pointers per game (10.4) and in free throw percentage (.808).

•  Niagara and Colgate will meet for the first time since December 21, 2000.
•  The Purple Eagles lead the all-time series which started in the 1914-15 season.
