HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles were defeated by the Colgate Raiders, 85-72, on Sunday afternoon.

Game Recap
First Quarter
  • The Purple Eagles jumped ahead in the first quarter, leading the Raiders, 9-5, with a little under seven minutes remaining and four points from Emerald Ekpiteta kept Niagara ahead, 13-10.
  • With about 3:20 to go in the first, the Purple Eagles and the Raiders were tied, 15-15, but Colgate began to pull away and led 27-20 going into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
  • Two free throws from Jordan Edwards in the first 30 seconds of the quarter brought Niagara back within five points of the Raiders, 27-22, but Colgate went on a 7-0 run to extend its lead to 10 points, 34-24.
  • Maggie McIntyre sank her second three of the game with a little under four and half minutes to go to leave NU trailing by just five points, 34-29.
  • The Raiders were ahead, 39-31, but Niagara went on a 6-0 run, including four points from Adia Brisker and another trey from McIntyre, to leave the Purple Eagles trailing narrowly, 41-36, going into halftime.
Third Quarter
  • McIntyre added eight more points in the third quarter, including two 3-pointers. Edwards also sank a three in the third.
  • The Purple Eagles trailed the Raiders, 70-51, at the end of the third quarter of play.
Fourth Quarter
  • Jai Moore opened scoring for the Purple Eagles in the fourth quarter, sinking a three. McIntyre followed that up with her sixth three of the game with about 7:40 remaining in the game.
  • Moore added 14 points overall in the quarter, but the Purple Eagles were not able to overcome the Raiders' lead, falling to Colgate, 85-72.

Eagle's Eye On...
  • McIntyre led Niagara in scoring with a career-high 26 points and made six 3-pointers, tying her career-high.
  • Moore added 14 points, all scored in the fourth quarter.
  • Brisker led the Purple Eagles in rebounds with eight. Ekpiteta has seven rebounds.
  • Moore and Ally Haar each had a team-best three assists.
