PISCATAWAY, N.J. – In their first meeting since 1995, the Purple Eagles fell to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 87-37, on Wednesday.

Game Recap

• The Purple Eagles kept things close early in the first quarter, trailing by just two, 11-9, with over four and a half minutes to play thanks to scores from Maggie McIntyre, Olivia Mason, Adia Brisker and Jai Moore. Rutgers, however, went on an 11-0 run, taking a 22-9 lead over NU. Moore scored Niagara's final points of the quarter and the Scarlet Knights led, 24-11, going into the second quarter.
• Emerald Ekpiteta, Moore and Brisker combined for Niagara's eight second quarter points. Rutgers led the Purple Eagles, 46-19, at the end of the first half of play.
• Brisker scored seven of Niagara's nine third quarter points, including a 3-pointer. The Purple Eagles trailed the Scarlet Knights, 66-28, at the end of the quarter.
• Jordan Edwards scored seven straight points for the Purple Eagles within the first two minutes of the fourth quarter. Mason scored the made the final bucket for NU as the Purple Eagles fell to the Scarlet Knights, 87-37.

Eagle's Eye On…

• Brisker led the Purple Eagles with 12 points, tying her career-high, and seven rebounds.
• Edwards and Moore both added seven points.
• Edwards led the team in steals with four.
