FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Dominik Fragala led Niagara in scoring with a career-high 20 points as the Purple Eagles dropped a 77-59 decision to the Fairfield Stags on Monday night.

Game Summary
A 15-2 Fairfield run that extended over both halves created the separation needed for the Stags in tonight's contest.

Niagara led 5-2 three minutes into the game after Marvin Prochet opened the scoring with a layup and a Keleaf Tate 3-pointer. Fairfield sprung into the lead behind a 10-2 run for a 12-7 advantage.

Prochet's 4-point play pushed NU ahead briefly at 17-16 with 9:22 on the clock, before the Stags went on an 11-2 run over the next three minutes for a 27-19 lead. 
The "Dom Duo" of Dominik Fragala and Dominic Robb combined for nine points as NU trimmed the deficit to 32-28 with 2:46 left. However, the Stags closed the half on a 9-2 run for a 41-30 halftime lead.

Fairfield scored six straight points to start the second half for a 47-30 lead before Niagara answered with a 6-0 run of its own.

Raheem Solomon made consecutive 3-pointers as part of a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 55-45 with 12:51 remaining, but the Stags answered with an 8-2 run and led by 21 points with four minutes remaining.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Dominik Fragala poured in a career-high 20 points on 7 of 9 shooting from the field. He was the lone Purple Eagle in double figures.
  • Marvin Prochet scored nine points, had four rebounds and two steals.
  • Greg King grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

  • Dominik Fragala shot 77.8 percent from the field, which is the highest field goal percentage by a Purple Eagle this season with a minimum of seven made field goals.
  • Niagara outscored Fairfield, 37-21, in bench points.
