NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara University men's basketball program has announced the signing of Amadou Traore to the upcoming recruiting class.

"Amadou is a great addition to our roster," head coach Chris Casey said.  "With the graduation of three very good front court players (Marvin Prochet, Dominic Robb, Greg King), we are looking for him to step in as a freshman and play an important role.   He has the size and versatility to guard different positions and can score the ball on the offensive end in multiple ways.  He is a high character young man and will do an outstanding job representing Niagara University."

Traore, who signed his National Letter of Intent in November, is currently playing at Next Level Prep, a preparatory program in Wichita, Kansas.

He played his final season of high school basketball at Brooklyn Collegiate during the 2017-18 season where he averaged a double-double in the competitive New York City's Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) AA.

Traore received a lot of interest from programs across the nation and selected Niagara over the College of Charleston, Hartford, Rider and St. Francis Brooklyn among others.
