James Towns scored a game-high 21 points as the Purple Eagles fell at the Siena Saints, 66-57, on Thursday night.
Game Summary
Tonight's game started with each team having 12-2 runs. The Purple Eagles took a 12-2 lead, including connecting on three of their first four shots. The Saints answered with a 12-2 run of their own to tie the game at 14-14 with 11:43 left in the half.
The score was tied at 16-16 when the Saints outscored the Purple Eagles 15-2 over the next six minutes to build a 31-18 lead. The Purple Eagles chipped away at the Siena lead by closing the half on a 6-0 run to trail 31-24 at halftime.
The 6-0 run to end the first half extended into a 10-2 run at the beginning of the second half as the Purple Eagles got baskets from
Marvin Prochet and
Keleaf Tate to cut the lead to 33-28. However, Siena created separation with on 18-5 run to lead 51-33 with nine minutes remaining.
Niagara used a 12-4 run to cut the lead to 59-47 and scored a flurry of points in the final minute to trim the deficit into single digits.
Eagle's Eye On…
- James Towns scored a game-high 21 points, with 17 coming in the second half, for his second 20-point game of the season.
- Marvin Prochet tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist.
- Dominic Robb scored 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field, and grabbed five rebounds and had one block.
